Phenolic Plastic
Other Characteristics of Phenolic
Phenolic Plastic is a type of thermosetting plastic material known for its physical and molding properties. Phenolic caps have strength and durability with heat-resistant and insulating properties.
- Excellent insulation strength
- Lightweight
- Heat and wear resistant
- Known for its resistance to chemical corrosion
- Good mechanical strength & dimensional stability
- Low moisture absorption
Phenolic's Role in History
In 1907, Dr. Leo Baekeland discovered phenolic plastic and soon after patented the material. This would become the first entirely synthetic material to be produced in large quantities.
