TSA Carry-On Rules and Regulations

Understanding TSA Regulations

The Transporation Security Administration has rules regarding liquids and other materials in an individual's carry-on luggage. According to the TSA, carry-on bags can have 3.4 ounces or less of product packaged in a single, quart-size, zip-top, clear plastic bag.

Liquids, gels, and aerosol travel items must fit in a quart-size bag, and containers in that bag must be 3 oz or smaller in size. The TSA recommends that if you need more than the 3 oz allowed, products should be packed in checked luggage.

Toiletry items, such as shampoo, conditioner, bubble bath, and cosmetics, must be in 3 oz containers to be allowed in your carry-on. Every traveler must remove the quart-size bag from the carry-on bags and place it in a bin or on the conveyor belt for X-ray screening.

SKS offers a variety of TSA compliant containers. Choose from sample size containers in plastic, glass, metal, and paperboard in styles that can easily blend into a range of product lines. Package these travel size containers in plastic bags with zippers for keeping products safe in carry-on bags.
