Common Carrier Freight Shipment Terms and Conditions

Most small orders will ship via UPS from SKS' NY or NV warehouses; larger orders that require pallets for shipment will ship through third-party common carriers. Common carrier shipments do not qualify for free shipping and will ship complete. The shipping cost is calculated based on current carrier rates, the amount of pallets required for your shipment, and the delivery options chosen.

Freight Shipment Parameters

In general, the following criteria is likely to result in a Common Carrier shipment. Some exceptions may apply. All shipping options that are valid for your order will be shown to you on the Checkout page.

  • Orders containing pallet quantity items or large orders requiring pallets for shipment

It is very important to make sure you have selected the appropriate delivery options for your shipment location. Selecting the wrong options may result in additional fees that will be charged to your payment method on file at the time of delivery. If you are logged into an SKS Bottle account, we will save your selected options when you place your order and display them as your default selections the next time you order.

  • Delivery Type: Select residential or commercial delivery. If you choose commercial, a business name needs to be included.
  • Liftgate: Liftgate trucks allow the pallet of products to be delivered to the ground without the need of a forklift. This is automatically added to a location without a loading dock.
  • With Dock/Forklift: Indicates that your business uses a loading dock for deliveries or has a forklift.
  • Limited Access: The truck delivery company will need to sign for entrance onto a campus or secured location, ie camps, schools, military locations, etc. This option cannot be applied to a location that requires a Liftgate.
  • Inside Delivery Required: indicates whether the driver will need to bring the shipment inside of the shipping location.
  • Call Before Delivery: Indicates whether an appointment is required. The Carrier will contact you prior to delivery to set up an appointment. Note: for Residential shipments, this is automatically added into the price.

Common Carrier Shipping and Delivery Terms

  • If additional service/truck requirements are needed for proper delivery due to incorrect options chosen during checkout, extra fees will be charged to you at the time of delivery.
  • At the time of delivery, you will be required to sign a BOL to acknowledge shipment. During the delivery, review the order, list any damages that have occurred during transit, and alert SKS within 48 hours. If the BOL is signed and no damages are listed at the time of delivery SKS will dismiss any damage claims.
  • SKS reserves the right to change the selected carrier as needed in the event of carrier issues that may be out of our control. If there is any change to your shipping cost, we will contact you before making any changes, to ensure that you would still like to proceed with the order.
