PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate)

PET, also known as polyethylene terephthalate, is a great packaging material for many reasons. PET has good heat resistance and can be hot-filled up to 160° F. This durable material offers a good barrier to gas and moisture and is highly resistant to dilute acids, oils, and alcohols, which could be favorable characteristics when looking to package cleaning materials or hair care products. While PET is widely used in clear, there are opaque options available. Opt for white or black boston rounds stocked by SKS in a range of sizes. If packaging light-sensitive materials, darker colors like green or amber would be best for blocking UV rays. Disc Top Caps

Disc top caps are favorable caps eliminating the need to remove the caps to dispense the product. Instead, simply press down on the cap to open. When the Induction liners are applied with the Induction sealing machine the liner creates an airtight seal to help prevent leakage.

Twist Top Caps

PET boston rounds can also be paired with twist top caps, available in various colors, and used to dispense a small amount of product to a targeted area. Boston rounds with twist top caps could be used to package products like glues, paints, inks, and more. To dispense, twist the top portion of the cap clockwise to expose the orifice on the tip of the cap. Hold the bottle so the cap is face down, and gently squeeze to gradually release the product. Boston rounds have common neck finishes, which makes finding a suitable caps, whether it be dispensing or not, simple and easy. Child Resistant Droppers

SKS now offers child resistant bulb glass droppers. These droppers feature black ribbed collars and glass pipettes in three lengths compatible with 1/2 oz, 1, oz, and 2 oz glass boston rounds. These droppers are compatible with clear, frosted, blue, and amber glass boston rounds. If looking to safely package pharmaceuticals, chemicals, or liquid food products, these glass boston rounds with black child resistant droppers could be a good option. Simply push down on the plastic portion of the closure and turn counterclockwise to open. To use these droppers squeeze the bulb and put the tip of the dropper into the liquid, while it is in the liquid release the pressure on the bulb allowing the liquid to flow into the pipette, then remove the pipette from the liquid. To release the liquid from the pipette gently push down again on the bulb. When finished dispensing product, place closure on top of the bottle and turning clockwise to close.
