SKS Bottle Home TSA Carry-On Rules and Regulations

TSA Approved Carry-On Containers

The Transporation Security Administration set forth rules in September of 2006 regarding liquids and other materials in an individual's carry-on luggage. These restrictions were created in the wake of attempted terror plots in our and other nations' airports and airlines. According to TSA, "all liquids, gels and aerosols must be placed in a single, quart-size, zip-top, clear plastic bag. Gallon size bags or bags that are not zip-top, such as fold-over sandwich bags are not allowed. Each traveler can use only one, quart-size, zip-top clear plastic bag".

Your liquid travel items must not only items fit in a quart-size bag, but all containers in that bag must be 3 oz. or smaller in size. TSA recommends that if you need more than the 3 oz allowed, that you pack these items securely in your checked luggage. Toiletry items such as shampoo, conditioner, bubble bath and cosmetics must be in 3 oz containers to be allowed in your carry-on. Every traveler must remove the quart-size, plastic zip-top bag from their carry-on and place it in a bin or on the conveyor belt for X-ray screening.

TSA offers a detailed list of permitted and prohibited items for travel here. Please note that some items are restricted from carry-on and must be packed in your checked baggage. Some items are entirely restricted and may not be brought onto an airplane in any circumstance.

SKS Bottle & Packaging offers a variety of containers that are TSA compliant. We offer a selection of metal, plastic and glass containers that are 3 oz. or less in size and could allow you to travel with your personal toiletries intact and within regulation. Allow yourself a stress-free trip and check out our selection of travels kits with TSA compliant containers, or mix and match your own selection of glass, plastic and metal containers. Our vinyl travel bags are offered alone or with a variety of TSA compliant containers, making for quick and easy packing for any type of trip!
